Alcinda was born and raised in a small town in southeastern Massachusetts, the youngest of 4 children. She currently resides in Raleigh North Carolina, having moved in 1997 to get away from the cold northern winters. Alcinda has 2 adult children, both living on their own, and is very proud of them.
A Registered Nurse since 1976, she currently works as a Case Manager working with Workers Compensation clients. Studying and researching health and diet issues has become a passion over the past few years. Of particular interest are low carb diets and natural foods, and how they relate to various health issues. Seemingly recent dependence by the healthcare industry on prescription medications is also a concern of hers.

That's an interesting Examiner column you wrote about eggs. I'm trying to transition to a low-carb vegetarian diet, but I sure do enjoy eggs.
