Plans

OK....as promised, I've made up my mind what I'm going to do about exercise.

At least once a day, I'm going on a walk, at least 20 minutes for now as I'm still recovering from a chest cold. I'm going to work up to at least 30-45 minutes. My dogs are going to love it.

Also, my son doesn't know it yet, but we're going to move my weight bench out of his room into the front room so I can use it!!! I'm going to use the Body For Life program (the resistance part), at least for now, for my routine. I really want to check out the Slow Burn program, but I have no money to buy the book, and my local library doesn't have it right now (but I'm going to request it, once I figure out how).

Here's my new ticker:

This is not my total weight loss, but just for my new goal.

My weigh day is Monday.

My measure day is going to be the first of each month.

I am going to walk daily, do resistance training at least 3 days a week, and stick with my low carb plan!

Good for you!! Sometimes just making the decision to act is all you need to get going. My way was Curves, 5 mon after I started the Vet told me my golden retriever was 35 lb overweight. I thought he was just fluffy! I went lo carb, Sam went portion control and we started walking. Today I am down 140 lbs and Sam ins down 35.It wasn't always easy or fast but we got there sam and I! Good luck I will be following your progress and putting my 2 cents worth in every now and then.

Thanks for commenting Tess! I wanted to get it down ASAP so I would be committing!

I have 2 dogs (pics on blog) and feed both of them mainly a raw diet...or at least mostly meat. I do this because dogs, like us, have no need for the high carb that is in most packaged dog foods. I also have several friends that have dogs that are diabetic! According to a vet I've talked to there has been a dramatic increase in diabetes in dogs as well as humans! (I hear a blog coming on) Of course the media blames it on the owners not giving the dogs enough exercise, but the people I know with diabetic dogs religiously walk their dogs and make sure they get enough exercise.

I am really nterested in the raw food diet for the babes. I have wanted to start Sam on it but don't know where to begin and how much to feed,We worked so long to get the weight off! I buy him the best dog food I can find but I know if carbs aren't good for me they certainly cant be good for him. A blog post on this would really help.

I'll see what I can do Tess, but you can also do a search on raw feeding or BARF (Bones And Raw Food).

Personally I don't worry about the veggies that some sites promote, but I certainly don't keep them from the dogs either!
